calendar
Thu Jul 18, 10:40 - Thu Jul 18, 12:00
location
Roedean School Field

The SAORA is delighted to invite you to support this wonderful initiative organised by Roedean (SA) school. We hope that many Old Girls will participate and we look forward to hosting you at the event. We ask that you kindly consider making a donation if you are unable to participate in the walk.

Please join the Roedean community in recognising Mandela Day with a “Mandela values walk in The Wilds, to keep girls in school” on Thursday 18 July from 10h30 to 12h00.

Senior School Pupils, Parents and Old Girls meet on the Roedean field at 10h30 and then proceed to The Wilds.

All proceeds will go towards purchasing re-usable sanitary products for the girls residing in the Phedisang community in Limpopo, with whom Roedean has had a partnership for over 10 years. These products will reduce school absenteeism and dropout rates and increase opportunities for the girls to complete their education with dignity. The overall objective is to empower young girls through education and access to sanitary wear in order to reach their full potential.

In order to collect the money needed for this project, there is a R150 charge for each participant.

Please purchase your entry ticket in advance using this Quicket page. A Quicket vending station will also be available from 09h45 to 10h20 on the Roedean School field so that you can buy tickets for any friends you've roped in at the last minute. Kindly buy your tickets in advance to avoid queues on the day.

Sponsor a walker to walk on your behalf!  A walker from your House will wear your name in your House colours as they Walk in The Wilds.
If you wish you can email your pic to [email protected] and we will include your pic on your name placard!
Thank you to one of our proud Kats Old Girls for the super suggestion!
