CAPS CONCEPT CONSOLIDATION

Grade 9 Workshops

Is your Grade 9 struggling in physical science due to:

• Insufficient syllabus time
• A disruptive class predominantly planning on dropping science for matric
• Insufficient practise examples and application
• Insufficient feedback and revision of practise examples
• Reluctance to study due to poor comprehension

ScIQ Small Group workshops are designed to help Grade 9 pupils by revisiting major conceptual ideas on each topic and providing supervised time to complete problems and practise examples. These workshops are CAPS aligned and provided by a high school science teacher, near Rosebank, JHB.

4th August 2019: Compounds & Chemical Reactions

18th August 2019: Combustion Reactions

1 September 2019: Acid reactions

15 September 2019: Forces

29 September 2019: Electricity 1 (Current, voltage and resistance)

13 October 2019: Electricity 2 (Circuits)

Students should have completed the work section at school prior to attending the revision workshop, and will need to bring a smartphone/tablet that is wifi enabled (In some cases with prior arrangement, this can be provided)
