About the Speaker

Ian Hammond has been involved in engineering businesses and projects since 1986 in the capacity of various leadership positions. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree, a Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ian has experience in project and business development and management which are complemented by his excellent communication, comprehension and learning skills that enabled him to develop companies and improve existing companies’ profitability. Ian has established four companies thus far and fully managed these companies to provide geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting services to industries and private persons globally. Having worked as an entrepreneur in the consulting engineering industry for a number of years, his skills are currently at an optimum level as he is familiar with the challenges faced by small business owners in communication, marketing, sales and production.

He understands the operating environment faced by privately owned and small professional concerns relating to expansion and profitability. He presently owns and manages an consulting engineering practice dealing with tailings and waste management facilities.
