The 10and5 Supper Club is a Food Jam paired with a talk from one of the highlighted creatives of the month from 10and5's network.

Each month the 10and5 Supper Club is a gathering of all the people who have been featured on the site for the past month. Join us in celebrating the artists, designers, filmmakers, photographers, producers and more who make up South Africa's diverse creative industry.

Our format:

The evening is hosted at SOUTE in Woodstock and is underpinned by a FoodJam and a speaker who will share their latest work with us in a 15-min presentation format. For this evening we will have Mrs & Mr Luke

Your ticket price includes a 4-course dinner and wine.

We all know that these event are mainly for meeting the other great people in the room - that's where the FoodJam comes in!

There will be a cash bar for any other beverages.

What is a FoodJam?

Food Jams are social gatherings in which eating food is only half the fun. Participants are paired up, preferably with strangers, and each team is given a portion of the meal to prepare and invited to follow the recipe, although participants are usually encouraged to improvise.

The concept was started by Jade de Waal as an excuse to bring a group of friends together in her favourite place, the kitchen.

Our 10and5 FoodJam takes a special spin - we're curating the individuals attend and keeping a strict guestlist with only a few positions open to the public and our 10and5 audience at large. This is a great opportunity to network with like minded creatives in a non-stuffy, interesting environment. Plus - you get a 4-course meal and wine included!

About Mrs & Mr Luke

Faatimah Mohamed-Luke [FML] lives in Cape Town with the husband, the kid and 2 cats. In 2003 she graduated from Cape Technikon with ND: Fashion and also did a year of design encompassing Graphic, Interior, Industrial, Textile and Jewellery design disciplines. Faatimah is a founding partner of successful designer brand, adam&eve and has honed her skills, having participated in numerous fashion weeks and international exhibitions for the last 10 years. Eight months ago, she resigned from fashion to focus on Art, Interior design and working with new materials. Her current focus is creating large-scale art made of plastic building blocks. Her fascination with creating artwork from minute blocks comes from her love of minute detail and intricate patterns. She discovered the art of Tessellation i.e. a highly symmetric, edge-to-edge tiling using a simple porcelain shape on a recent trip to Morocco. She loved how surface was painstakingly adorned to perfection and hopes to highlight and recreate the art form with modern materials. This medium creates both nostalgia and relevance, while being appreciated by all ages and backgrounds. With numerous art fairs and gallery exhibitions under her belt featuring abstract pieces she plans to experiment with landscapes and portraits next.

Al Luke (ALFA) is a Cape Town native who has been working as creative director of Blacksheep Design Studio since 2008. He first studied art and graphic design in high school at The Frank Joubert Art Centre and later at Cape Technikon (CPUT), where he received his National Diploma. He has worked creatively in all aspects of the advertising industry all the while experimenting within multiple creative fields with varying techniques.

His current focus makes use of an expressive abstract style to visually translate personal and societal connections between humanity and theories within the fields of science, biology and mathematics. The first showcase of this on going project makes use of paper collage and will continue to evolve with a variety mediums and executions.

The intention of the artist is to create and expose a new African style which challenges the definitive global views and opinions of the continent.
