Gordon’s Bay is again host their “Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights”. The two Carnival Weekends will be held from Friday 14 June to Sunday 16 June and from Friday 21 June to Sunday 23 June- a fun start for of the winter school holidays!

On the False Bay shore, at the base of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, just 50 minutes from Cape Town, this picturesque village will again ‘ignite’ with a spectacular display of lights on the festival grounds right next to the main beach. The ‘Parade of Lights’ will open the festivities at 18h30 on 14 June. The parade will lead spectators along the beachfront past sparkling restaurants, to the Carnival Village @ Hendon Park, which offers a warming winter atmosphere.

The musicians performing over the next two weekends include famous locals. Home-grown crafts, tempting food stalls with fantastic food from around the world served by locals, live music concerts, gluhwein and hot chocolate, pancakes and hot soup, face painting and exciting rides at the Fun Fair - all will delight the young at heart.

Enjoy a stroll down our beach and support the businesses in town - many are doing something special for the weekends

Now in its 9th year, the initiative was developed by the Gordon's Bay Business Forum, a group that provides local businessmen with a platform for exchanging ideas and to offer an opportunity to build prosperity and employment and we have donating more than R 310.000 to charitable organizations in the Helderberg since inception of the event - one of our main goals of the event.

Guest houses are offering specials rates and Winter Wonderland is an ideal opportunity for visitors to stay overnight and enjoy the attractions…. don your ‘woolies’, fantasy costumes and twinkling lights, bring family and friends and join the fun!

Those visiting any time during the fiesta will no doubt be spoiled for choice when it comes to things to do, see and taste.

Festival times are from 16:00 to 23:00 on Fridays, 10:00 to 23:00 on Saturdays and 10:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.
