This guided tour will take you on a historical journey through the Slave Lodge and provide insight into the dismal living conditions during slavery in South Africa, and the opportunity to explore the long history of slavery in South Africa. Explore our contemporary exhibitions through which we address and raise awareness around human rights issues. During this tour, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore the upper galleries of the Iziko Slave Lodge, where you’ll find the revamped Egyptology exhibition featuring exciting elements of virtual reality- a game based on the afterlife and some highlights from our ceramics, silverware and collections amongst others.
