THE BOOK LAUNCH
Paradigm Shift launches its first full-colour coffee table book called RESILIENCE: PORTRAITS OF A NEW SOUTH AFRICA. It stunningly depicts the beauty, challenges and possibilities of entrepreneurship in South Africa. This thought-provoking book offers a timely tribute to South Africa’s continuing journey of transformation now 20 years post-apartheid.
Juxtaposing the darkness of poverty with the beauty of a hope-filled future, the photography brings into focus 24 incredible entrepreneur portraits and their stories––each which reflect sheer resilience.
The photos were taken by New York City-based photographer Stephen Elliot, who is renowned for his gift of capturing photos that engage our emotions and awaken our imaginations. As Stephen travelled South Africa to photograph these entrepreneurs, he bore witness to their legacy and was forever changed.
The book will be available at the event (for a R199 suggested donation).
THE ART EXHIBIT
As a partner and host of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Paradigm Shift’s RESILIENCE Art Exhibit showcases (on printed canvas) 20 portraits of entrepreneurs featured in the book along with their stories. Complete with live music and cocktails, the evening includes a tour of the art, live on-stage interviews with two of the entrepreneurs featured and a presentation by Paradigm Shift.
THE VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION & AWARDS
The final hour is an exciting volunteer appreciation and awards ceremony for Paradigm Shift volunteers and their guests and includes canapés as well as drinks.
