CPO Chamber Concert

ABOUT
Musicians from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing in a unique new series supported by the CPO and Cape Town Concert Series. Louise Howlett, who is co-ordinating the series, says that the concert was devised to offer a performance platform to the musicians, many of whom do not have the chance to perform chamber music or solo repertoire due to their busy orchestral schedules. The programme will feature movements from works 'in progress' or short individual pieces that give the audience a chance to hear a wide variety of music and get to know the musicians in a more intimate concert experience. The programme lasts about 70 minutes with introductions to the works by the musicians, afterwhich the audience is invited to stay and talk with the musicians about their music over a glass of wine, or juice.
The series launches on Saturday, May 11, at Erin Hall, at 19:00. Tickets from Quicket.co.za at R120/R100. More information email: [email protected] / call: 084 682 1337.
