Running Is Freedom '19
The Freedom run is a mass call/movement in line with the historic events that took place in 1994.
“The 27th of April commemorates the day when the first democratic election was held in South Africa.
We celebrate this day to mark the liberation of our country and its people from a long struggle of colonialism and white minority domination.”
There are a number of struggles of which we are still fighting in this day; be it financial problems, poverty, depression, unemployment, women abuse, limited access to education and many others.
A number of strangers come together for a common cause, the emancipation from our struggles!
Running is freedom! we come from different parts and different problems but running frees our minds and it frees our souls!
The annual Freedom Run encourages the young and the old to learn about the South African history as well as encouraging people into investing in their health in order to fight our daily battles with a strong body and a peaceful mind through running.
