ABOUT

The Alumni Entrepreneurship Club was started in 2015 as a sort of Alcoholics Anonymous where aspiring and current entrepreneurs, particularly (soon to be) Alumni of business schools, could get together, learn, inspire and support each other towards starting and growing our businesses.

Over the course of the last few years, the Club has held multiple events and seen over 700 alumni and current students attend its events. We are again very excited to invite you to join the GIBS chapter of the Alumni Entrepreneurship Club for its April 2019 meeting.

It promises to be a stimulating evening as this time around we are being hosted by Akiba Digital, a Fintech company founded by Tebogo Mokwena (on the left of the pic) and Kamogelo Kekana (on the right) and a winner of the RMI backed AlphaCode's Incubate programme worth R2million overall.

The company provides fintech tools to help millenials (in particular) gain financial literacy and save.

The agenda (Wednesday 24th April 2019):

18h00 - 18h15: Introductions

18h15 - 18h45: Alumni Share - Tebogo and Kamogelo will share their story around how they started the business and what were some of their key learnings around entrepreneurship in their space.

18h45 - 19h00: Q&A - We'll open up the floor to ask Tebogo and Kamogelo some questions, particularly around their app.

19h00 - 19h45: Peer Mentoring - We will split into groups of 3-7 and share our business stories, seek help and advice and get to know one another.

19h45 - 20h00: Wrap-up, Recap & End.

Damage:
