The Cape Town Press Club talks to Hermann Giliomee
Wed Mar 13, 12:30 - Wed Mar 13, 14:30
Grill Room, Kelvin Grove
ABOUT
Hermann Giliomee on the future or the possible disappearance of the Afrikaner.
Renowned historian Hermann Giliomee will take a hard analytical look at the dramatic ascent of the Afrikaner; how they successfully mobilised ethnic entrepreneurship without state assistance, controlled an entire country, and then yielded power without military defeat.
The award-winning author and historian will address the Cape Town Press Club on the spectacular rise and probable demise of the numerical minority that has dominated 20th century South Africa.
He will take questions.
His latest work, The Rise and Demise of the Afrikaner (Tafelberg: 2019), will be available for purchase.
