TICKETING INFORMATION:


VIP ENTRY:                  

Reserved table seating, a free craft beer, branded water & some free craft beer sampling.


GENERAL ENTRY:      

A non-reserved seating/standing areas is available to party-goers. Please note that these tables cannot be reserved anytime during the show or prior to the show. Some free craft beer sampling is also available to general festival attendees.


Ticket sales at the door will be limited in accordance to the pre-sale figure. Buy your ticket today, to avoid possible disappointment!


ENTRY & EXIT POINT TO THE EVENT:


·     Entry to the event, as well as exit, will be at the Main Sun Exhibits door which runs directly into the parking area to the left of the building.

·     No entry will be allowed through the Magic Company entry doors.


CASH FACILITIES ONLY:


·    Please note that only cash facilities are available at the event and we regret that there will be no card facilities available at the event itself.

·    There are however ATM's at the main GrandWest Casino entry point, but you will have to walk back along the outside of the building to obtain entry to the event again.


AGE RESTRICTION:


·    Only over 18's will be allowed access to the event.


PARKING:


·    Parking available on the GrandWest grounds at R10 per ticket for the full evening, or

·    Free to MVG card holders when using their MVG cards.

·    MVG cards can be obtained from the MVG desk within the main GrandWest Casino building free of charge and you will only need your South African ID document/driver's license in order to obtain a card.

·    The MVG card is valid for the full period of your free MVG membership.


GENERAL RULES:


1.    Right of admission is reserved.

2.    You are not permitted to bring your own food/alcohol/other beverages to the event.

3.    No weapons are allowed, as the only thing dangerous at this fest should be your sexy moves on the dance floor.

4.    We regret, no under 18's!

5.    Alcohol purchased will be for on-consumption at the venue only.

6.    If you are planning to exceed alcohol limits, please arrange for an uber or designated driver - your safety is important to us.

7.    No drugs or other illegal substances are allowed on the premises and use thereof is strictly prohibited.

8.    Please adhere to safety instructions from the security, safety, medical officers and management personnel in the event of an emergency or risk situation.

9.    Have fun! This is not a request - this is a strict instruction.

10. Smoking:

o    Smoking is not allowed inside the building.

o    The doors to Sun Park will however be opened and this leads to a designated smoking area with seating, where visitors are welcome to chill with a hot coal and a cold one.

11. Your dancing shoes are not an accessory at these events - it's a necessity!

Cape Town, are you ready for the phenomenal musical antics of SUNSET SWEATSHOP, EARLY B, THE TOASTGABRIEL SHAI & LINDSAY? These proudly South African artists perform reggae/rock/rap/rave/pop style music that will be rocking your world at Grand West Sun Exhibits! Watch out for the very sexy and highly talented dancers from Live Entertainment who will make a couple of appearances throughout the show to keep party animals thoroughly entertained and enthralled! Every evening will also feature Cape Town's very own Lindsay, not only does she have an amazing voice but she is also the ambassador for the School Revival's "Targeting Bullying with Love" - Anti-bullying campaign! She will most definitely keep Capetonians thoroughly entertained. Part of the funds raised for the show will also be donated to the cause. As a bonus, we also decided to incorporate funny man - Shakir Chuqy who will be keeping the crowd in stitches. Shakir will also host the Grillfather Burger & Craft Beer competition with MC, Andrew Dell.  

After conclusion of the artist performances, party-goers are in for a real treat when they get to join an After Party with the artists and DJ B-Dubz, who will be playing the rest of the evening out and will ensure dancing excitement.

To top it all off, GrandWest will be ensuring that there is a variety of tasty Braai Meats & Salads ready for hungry party-goers who may be in the mood for some incredible munchies in true South African style, at affordable rates! Other food options are also available.

Beverages include great Craft Beers & other alcoholic beverages, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. The event promises to deliver an amazing evening of excellent music, great vibe, local craft beer magic, fab food and other refreshments.

EARLY B (10 MAY 2019)

Rap & Pop fans are in for a smooth fast-talking treat, when Early B, the 29-year old rapper from Bloemendal, PE - hits the Sun Exhibits stage at GrandWest. This Ghoema Award winning rapper claimed his spot within the music industry as solo artist nationally as well as internationally, with songs like “Dakskroef”, “Ben Ten” and “Lekka Djy”. Early B has become the sort after name at music festivals across the country and a household name to hip-hop fans. Early B’s predominantly Afrikaans rap style made working with different artists such as Emo Adams, Hemel Besem, Afrikaans Pop Band Adam and Pierre Rossouw a walk in the park. His self-filmed, self-produced and self-advertised music videos has reached more than 400 000 views on Youtube! Early B’s music not only entertains, but also delivers social education and is widely played on national radio stations regularly. His song Cerebellum peaked at number 1 on the Goodhope FM hip-hop charts for several weeks. Early B boasts with dominating the KKNK Rymklets stage for 4 consecutive years and his music is in what can only be called, high demand! Early B Music has become the movement of note.

GABRIEL SHAI (10 MAY 2019)

Gabriel Shai, replaces Manuel Losper in the line-up for 10 May. This very talented artist was exactly what we were looking for to round off a perfect evening’s entertainment. Singer, entertainer, and DJ – all rolled into one he is sure to keep the crowd entertained with laughter, totally enthralled with hits from all eras and definitely on the dance floor during his energetic performance. There is definitely never a dull moment with this entertainer around and he will be setting the perfect party vibe for Early B’s performance!

SUNSET SWEATSHOP (11 MAY 2019)

Fans can expect to see Sunset Sweatshop perform songs like “Come along” and “Move it” live. Sunset Sweatshop is a proudly South African feel-good rock band with reggae and folk influences

They started out in October in late 2016 when frontman Ian Heyns (Good Luck Johnny) began collaborating with guitarist Rossouw Wentzel. It was not long after that they were joined by bassist Richard Dicks, guitarist Nicholas Forbes (The Ballistics, Cherry Vynil) and drummer Victor Green (Ryno Velvet, De Wallen) and since their well-received debut show at Llamaland 2016 the band has been hitting SA festivals and concerts with a storm. They released their first hit single “Move it” in 2017 and in October 2018 Sunset Sweatshop released their album “Chasing Gold”. Fans can expect to rock the night away to songs like “Coming Along”; “Big Romance”; “Molly May”; “Chasing Gold”; “Something Good”; “Sunshine”; “Land of Love”; “Wilderness”; “Open Up”; “I want You” and “Rolling with the Punches”. The band has been awarded the Bok Radio Song of the Year 2017 – English title, as well as the Best Pop Song award for ‘Move It’ in the October 2017 - Akademia Music Awards. Raru described their debut album as: “…the kind of track list that reminds us why the world fell in love with SA music legends such as Bright Blue, Tananas and Johnny Clegg.

THE TOAST (11 MAY 2019)

As a super awesome bonus, Event Owl has also incorporated the newly established collaboration of The Toast, with their rap-rave style music, which will surely get the crowd off their chairs and on the dance floor. The two artists who aren’t strangers to the music scene - former front man, Bheki Dladla and guitarist, Nathan Rudnick, of iScream and the Chocolate Stix have reunited to form the ultimate South African fusion. After spending two years in studio, the pair are about to release their much-anticipated album!

While they were still with iScream and the Chocolate Stix, Nathan and Bheki were nominated for, and won a SAMA in 2013 for best alternative album. The band opened for the likes of Lil Wayne and MC Hammer. They collaborated with Lonehill Estate and have played with South African greats like Ard Matthews, Locnville, Good Luck, Freshly Ground, Gangs of Ballet, Prime Circle, Jack Parow and aKING, to name a few. The Toast released their first song, “Smile on my Face” in October 2017 and the song was quickly picked up by radio stations across South Africa as well as internationally. By November 2017, the song had been picked up by radio stations in New Zealand, Kuwait, Japan and Germany, and the duo were interviewed live on the New Zealand station. Their music has been described as art in its highest form and their contribution to the industry has been unmatched. The upcoming album will be a combination of high-energy genre in non-specific formulas, aimed at reintroducing the pureness of various genres back into music. Their name, The Toast was forged in true South African spirit and is essentially a “toast” to the other South African artists and brands, who makes Local Lekka!

Lindsay will be keeping the crowd mesmerized with her amazing voice on both 10 and 11 May. This beautiful, upcoming artist, not only has incredible singing talent but also a heart of gold as the ambassador for the School Revival's "Targeting Bullying with Love" - Anti-bullying campaign!

SHAKIR CHUQY (10 & 11 MAY 2019)

To spice partygoers’ evening up even more, we have incorporated the incredibly sexy & talented dancers, from Live Entertainment, who will be making appearances on both evenings!
Cape Town’s very own, funny man from the Plain - Shakir Chuqy, will popping in on both evenings to keep visitors in stitches with his funny antics about real SA issues on both 10 and 11 May!  His tongue in cheek videos showing the lighter side to real SA issues, have gone viral on social media, giving thousands of people a dose of good laughter. The now Tafelsig comedian and skit-creative has taken his comedy to stage, with the birth of his character, Chandre.

Chandre brings the fresh Cape Flats-flavoured spunky, hilarious drama to stand-up comedy, time after time in true Local Cape Style. She promises to be true to her funny Cape Flats self on 10 and 11 May, when she will be pushing all the “wrong” buttons with the men folk! Shakir will also be hosting the Grillfather Burger & Craft Beer Challenge competition on the two party evenings, with MC – Andrew Dell.

will be ensuring for a great party vibe at the after party on each of the festival evenings, when guests will have the opportunity to party with their favourite artists!

The Local is LeKKa Music & Craft Beer Fest, hits Sun Exhibits, GrandWest on 10 & 11 May 2019, from 19:00 to late.

The Local is LeKKa Music & Craft Beer Fest is much more than just a music festival. It is about making memories, variety, true fun & entertainment, supporting Local talent as well as the local community – not to mention great food & some of the best craft beers in town. While partygoers enjoy their evening of rip roaring entertainment they will also be supporting local fundraising for School Revival’s “Targeting Bullying with Love” campaign!

The incredible line-up includes:

VIP tickets are available at R200 per ticket and include reserved seating, a craft beer & branded water. General tickets sell at R150 and this is for limited unreserved seating/standing tickets.

  • Do we issue refunds? No refunds will be issued, unless the show is cancelled for reasons beyond our control.
GENERAL RULES:
  • On entering the venue, all attendees will be issued with a wristband which needs to be warn for the duration of the show. You will not be able to access the show without your wrist band.
  • Wristbands will offer you a certain level of access – such as VIP guests to the VIP seated area.  
  • All facilities are used at own risk and management reserves the right to limit entry into certain areas of the show, or to evict any person, without refund, not abiding by the General Rules and other Notices.
  • Under no circumstances will management or the owners of the venue accept liability for any losses or damages sustained by any person howsoever arising.
  • We regret no under 18’s will be allowed to the show.
  • Performances & operating times maybe subject to change and refunds will be at Management’s discretion.
  • No firearms or other dangerous objects are allowed into the shows under any circumstances and any offenders will be requested to leave the venue without refund.
  • Please exercise caution around the show and in any activities you may partake in, as Management will not be held responsible for any incidents whatsoever.
  • No pets, roller blades, radios are allowed into the show venue.
  • No advertising in any form by the Public in the venue is permitted.
