Green & Vegan Pop Up Dining 14th December 2019
Patrick and Karen went vegan in 2012. Their struggle to eat out as vegans resulted in them opening a Vegan Pop Up Dining Experience at their cozy home in the heritage area of Green Point Village in Cape Town. The couple are not only committed vegans, but also aspire to live a sustainable lifestyle.
The pair have done numerous vegan cooking courses both on-line and in situ mostly in Europe. Their passion for refining and improving the quality of vegan food on offer is what drives them to continually study more.
Green & Vegan host events once a fortnight in summer and once a month in winter to a diverse group of people from South Africa and the world. Singles, couples or friends are all welcome. Expect to receive a Welcome Drink on arrival and to find your name at your seat at the long table before service commences.
The venue is not licensed so guests are requested to bring their own wine/beer or beverage of choice. No corkage is charged.
Menus are posted on either the Green & Vegan Facebook page or @greenandvegancapetown closer to the event date.
There is a typical format to the menus - a Starter, Amuse Bouche, Main Course, Trio of Desserts, Vegan Cheeze Platter and finally Tea/Coffee. Do come hungry!
Bookings are made via www.quicket.co.za and price is R399 per person.
Karen and Patrick pride themselves on friendships that have formed across the table and interesting conversations guests have enjoyed. There is soft background music but the evening is about meeting people outside your normal social circle and hopefully learning something new.
It’s is not a requirement to be vegan to attend. Most guests are not vegan, but curious to try plant-based dining.
Green Point Village is located centrally in Cape Town and Uber rides are easy to source.
