ABOUT
Hit the ground running with the Greater Tygerberg Partnership (GTP). The newest off-road event on the Cape Town urban trail running calendar takes place on 7th of April 2019. The Bellville Urban Trail takes runners from the Bellville central business district (CBD) to the Tyger Valley Centre and back again. The route links Tielman Marais Park with Jack Muller Park and traces a path from the old Bellville CBD to the new business centre in Tyger Valley. This is an urban trail which celebrates the quality green spaces in Bellville.
The event is open to all trail runners and walkers of all ages, and features a 5 km and a 14 km route.
The GTP is hosting its 2nd Urban Trail Run as part of its programme to build a connected community in Bellville and the Greater Tygerberg region.
Entrance to the Bellville Urban Trail will be R60 per runner for the 5km event, and R100 per runner for the 14km event.
Students who show their student cards on the day will run for free.
To maximise the sustainability of the event and reduce its carbon footprint, entrants to the GTP Urban Trail Run will be encouraged to leave their cars at home, or to take public transport to the event. Completing entrants will be awarded a water-wise plant in lieu of a medal.
