It's time for our annual (mostly) CHD Awareness event and we're stoked to have you on board.

Prepare to be entertained!

This year's CHD awareness event will be held at The Getty in Northriding. Your donation (ticket) buys you a seat at the quiz event of the year AND a CHD awareness tee that you can wear as often as you like in the hopes of getting people talking!

We have a few fantastic prizes that will be both given away and auctioned on the night, including a romantic night away for two!

The Getty are graciously offering us amazing food and drink specials and the quiz master who entertained us at the last THI quiz will be returning with more laughs and brain tweaking questions!

Why are we doing this?

Congenital Heart Defects are a scourge present in 1 out of every 100 babies born in South Africa and it is our long term goal to defeat them. The only way we can envision doing this is through research because right now, nobody knows what causes them and, while heart surgery can help CHD babies, they will never be healed so work is needed to figure out why they happen before they happen.

Our secondary challenge is finding the research fellows. Right now, South Africa is faced with a shortage of infant cardiologists, never mind a shortage in research focussed on infant CHDs. And yet the statistics remain the same - it was 1 in 100 when we started this initiative six years ago and it is 1 in 100 now. Mission Possible is going to change this!
