ABOUT

The Takate Kote (TK) or Munenawa is a fundamental Kinbaku tie. We will be spending focused sessions learning this traditional tie in the Kinoko style, as taught to our community by Ben Langholz in May 2018 (find out more about him here: https://www.benjaminlangholz.com/about/). The classes will be taught on the first Saturdays of March and April. This class is limited to 8 pairs, and is recommended if you would like to attend follow up suspension classes taught by Ben in April/May (which we HIGHLY recommend if you would like to dramatically improve your bondage practice). We recommend that you attend at least two of these classes before May, or make arrangements for a private lesson with Astrid (@_desire_lines) before attending Ben's workshop series (unless you are very confident in your ability to tie a suspendable TK).

Requirements for those tying:

  • Natural rope, 3x7/8m pieces. Preferably jute if you would like to progress to suspension, but hemp is also good. Get in touch if you would like to buy some from the organisers. There will be house rope available but we recommend having some of your own to practice with at home.
  • A solid single column tie.
  • Safety shears.

Requirements for those being tied:

  • Comfortable tight-fitting clothing, like you would wear to yoga. Bras without underwire or free the nipple.
  • This is a hands-behind-the-back tie, so the ability to sustain this position for an extended period is required.

Requirements for both:

  • Usually we encourage switching but because of the technical nature of this class, we would like to stick to one role per person.
  • Water and snacks. Please stay hydrated and fed, as sustaining a tie for an extended period can be quite taxing.
  • Communication throughout the tie.

If you would like to attend the class but struggle with the fees, please contact us and we can make an arrangement. We would like to keep the costs as low as possible so as to enable community members to save up for Ben's course, which will be priced at international rates.
