Let's talk about "Online Security" with Adriana Marias and Tim Brown...

We live in a world where we are all beginning to wonder just how safe our information is on the internet... and what are the cybercrime threats that we should be aware of... and most importantly: what are the precautions being developed to create a safer online experience?

Adriana Marais will be joining us to discuss how AI is being developed to fight cybercrime. Adriana is not only the director of innovation for global tech giant SAP, she is also one of the final 100 MARS ONE candidates.

Tim Brown will be coming to challenge us with what the POPI Act actually means to us. Our South African "Protection of Personal Information Act" has many unanswered questions in many of our minds and Tim has agreed to share his expertise.

As usual, AppCity invites small business owners to hire a stand for R250 or R500 and showcase their products and/or services. You will be provided with a table and chairs and 1 (R250) or 3 (R500) tickets for your standholders. We encourage stands to hold a competition for event attendees to enter as they will then be given the opportunity to hand out their prize at the end of the event.

Food and drinks (cooldrinks, hot drinks and adult appropriate beverages) will be on sale.

Tickets are R50 for adults and R20 for Students (Scholars and Varsity) and Children.
