Don’t miss the charity walk and run of the year!
The #StepForSafety walk and celebration has been making waves across the continent, from Kenya, Ghana, Burkina Faso...it is now time for Johannesburg, South Africa!
Join us as we step in solidarity and support the millions of families that have been forced to flee their homes across Africa because of conflict and persecution.
Here are the details:
- Date: Sunday, 10 February 2019
- Time: 07:30 am
- Location: Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens
- Registration: R200.00 for adults and R50.00 for children aged 12 and under.
What your ticket gets you:
- Support to families forced to flee - all proceeds from sale of tickets goes towards providing critical care and assistance to forcibly displaced communities;
- A #StepForSafety branded t-shirt;
- A choice of three routes which you can walk, run, hike or jog:
- 2KM Family Walk (stroller friendly);
- 3KM Scenic Hike; or
- 8 KM Walk/Run/Hike.
- Water will be distributed to participants of the walk;
- Access to the UNHCR Refugee Journey Exhibition to learn more about the real lived experiences of families forced to flee through a simulation experience of UNHCR’s refugee registration process;
- Access to the market with a variety of food, arts and crafts stalls (remember to bring along some cash);
- Child friendly space with activities for children;
- Access to the beautiful Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens; and
- Performances and appearances from ANATII, Ayanda Makayi, Ma Nala, Ancillar Mangena, Edith Venter, Tresor Riziki, Leanne Manas and many more!
