ABOUT

Solo and The BETR Gang are a digital hip hop band comprising of 4 members. Award winning hip hop artist, Solo who also plays the bass guitar, an MPC player, drummer and synth player who are also producers, they are collectively known as ‘BETR Gang’.

‘BETR’ stands for ‘Body Every Thing Right’. According to the artists, this movement focuses on making hip hop music that is always a correct balance of artistry versus trying to match the current SA hip hop landscape.

The band released their critically acclaimed debut album on the 12 November 2015 entitled ‘We Need A Title’. Hype Magazine named the project the number 1 most underrated mixtape/EP of 2015.

BETR GANG went on to win the Jameson Indie Grant Challenge in 2016, which saw them receive a grant of R100 000 to shoot a music video for their single, ‘The Heist’. The music video was released on the 5 August 2016.

On the 8th December 2018, ‘Solo and The BETR Gang’ announced the release of their second album ‘Tour Dates’. This concept album was released on 3 January 2018, is a collaboration project, that sees Solo & The BETR GANG team up with many household names in SA Hip Hop. They later went on to announce their deluxe version of the ‘Tour Dates’ album, which would include 5 brand new tracks and additional regions, this was released on the 5^th October 2018.
