A day of Mindfulness and Reflection.


Former Beijing expats, great friends and female business owners, Aveleigh Gateman of NAMETAG and Erin Henshaw of The Mind Body Project are teaming up to offer an international collaboration for the people of Cape Town. This is an all levels program that is accessible for everyone!


Aveleigh and Erin combine experience in the worlds of mindfulness, start-ups, company culture and leadership to create a balanced and inspirational day of relaxation and goal-setting. Join us to review the year, reset our minds and bodies, and reinvigorate our passion for 2019.


Schedule for Sunday, January 13:

10am: Yoga + Meditation

Noon: LUNCH

1-4pm: The Science of Mindfulness, Setting Intentions + Deep Relaxation


Attire: Comfy, as we'll be breathing and gently moving throughout the day. (No experience necessary!)

Your Facilitators:


Erin Lee Henshaw


Erin is an entrepreneur and mindfulness facilitator specializing in trauma-informed yoga, breath work and mindset programs. After spending five years working with expat ventures in China, she returned to the US to teach and incubate her company, The Mind Body Project, at the UVA iLab. Her company brings mindfulness programs to companies, schools and communities. Erin has studied Hatha Yoga in Rishikesh India, LifeForce Yoga, Mindful Schools, Zap Chen, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for teachers and parents. 


Erin loves to create unique and creative mindfulness programs for individuals and groups. For example, she has worked with entrepreneurs to better access their gut feelings, Greek Life at UVA for Mindful Communication and teachers who want to bring their own self-care practice into the classroom. Erin has recently worked with with traumatized populations in South Africa via the Sinomlando Oral History and Storytelling program in Pietermaritzburg and a Women's Start-Up Incubator at the Durban Institute of Technology. She has also developed and run a Trauma-Informed Facilitator Training which she will roll out in Cape Town in January 2019.


Aveleigh Gateman


Aveleigh is an entrepreneur who has worked as a group facilitator, curriculum developer, and program manager in the education, non-profit and business fields for over 13 years. To date, she has run programming in 20 countries, including: China, Thailand, Germany, USA, Haiti, Kenya and South Africa. Aveleigh specializes in facilitating workshops for personal reflection, goal setting, strategic planning, leadership development, problem solving, and culture shift. She currently lives and works in Cape Town where she is the lead facilitator of NAMETAG. She also sits on the board of directors of Ikasi Youth and works with the Butterfly Art Project where she trains facilitators in how to use art and creative processes to aid group development. 


She loves to create opportunities for individuals and teams to develop and grow, and has recently co-created leadership programs for 3 local tech companies and facilitated personal reflection for the JustLead! program through Stellenbosch University. She is busy helping Ikasi Youth roll out a youth leadership curriculum that will be run by youth organizations across the city in 2019.
