We Got The Jazz, Joburg’s only Jazz meets Hip-Hop monthly series, a collaboration by the people at Untitled Basement & The Glenlivet. Curated by DJ Kenzhero and Thandi Ntuli, Standard Bank’s Young Artist of the Year (Jazz) 2018. 

The series features new wave Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Hip-hop and Soul collaborations from across Africa and around the diaspora. We tap into the masters of the scene, the alternatives and the underdogs to bring as much music entertainment value and artistic innovation to the stage.

The finale edition for 2018 features one of the most stand out voices of this generation, Samthing Soweto, (former member of the group, THE SOIL and THE FRIDGE), Samthing Soweto pioneered Acapella vocal scatting, with a unique jazzy yet street edge to his multi layered vocal dynamics.

Samthing Soweto will perform with his own band and tap into the musical direction of Thandi Ntuli, Kenzhero and the resident musical directors.
