ABOUT

An event aimed at celebrating philanthropy and the potential of South Africa. A culmination of food, wine, art and entertainment made for you to enjoy. Join us at 12:00 on the 9th of March at the Lionel Smit Studio for an art auction that will make a difference.

Silapha originated from isiZulu and means We Are Here . These powerful words speak true to the presence which our scholars have within the leadership environment of South Africa and also to the events that Make A Difference Leadership Foundation hosts. Much like our other events, Silapha brings together a community of people with the intention of uplifting South Africa. The name Silapha is supported by the visual depiction of a baobab tree, a symbol for presence, longevity and grit. From its roots to its leaves the Baobab is built with a purpose. This tree is made not only to survive but to thrive in the hardest environments. This symbolism is not only a reflection of Silapha but of our scholars and our leadership programme. The programme has been carefully crafted to have a sustainable long-term impact on the future generations of South Africa by developing today’s young leaders of our country. We, our scholars, supporters, sponsors, donors and our team, are here to change the future of South Africa.

We are here to make a difference.
