Santa's Workshop - Holiday Gift Making for kids
Thu Dec 6, 08:30 - Fri Dec 14, 13:00
Thomas More College, Kloof
ABOUT
This is a great way to keep the kids busy, and they learn lots while having fun making gifts for the family. We have tried to cover a variety of gift options that can work for multiple interests, ages and genders. We are able to make choices at each workshop to personalise the crafts that are made. All materials are included in the ticket price.
Each day starts at 8:30am and ends at 1pm. You are welcome to book for individual options that work for you if you wish. Each day will have a maximum of 24 kids that can be catered for.
A mid-morning snack will be provided - this will be various sandwiches, an apple and juice. Please bring a juice bottle to fill up so that we minimise our carbon footprint!
After each day ends, a young entrepreneur will be selling boerewors rolls outside the venue. A tasty and convenient quick lunch option if you wish!
6th Dec - upcycled soda bottle Hedgehog Planter and craft stick Aeroplane
This cute hedgehog planter is a great gift that adds some fun into the garden or patio. You don't need greenfingers to grow with this container as it is a great use of recycling products that creates a perfect growing environment for a shallow rooted plant. The craft stick aeroplane is a lovely gift for a small child in the family.
7th Dec: mini Zen / Mindfulness Gardens
We all need peace and quiet at times! This makes a wonderful present for an office worker in the family, as it is compact and can be a great reminder on a desk to take time to collect your thoughts. We will be making a rake and a bridge out of sticks, and will include some gemstones too.
10th Dec: Bath Salts and lip balm
These are lovely presents for mom or gran, to help them take time to care for themselves too. We will mix bath Salts with self chosen essential oils for a nice relaxing bath. Lip balms will be made with coconut oil and vaseline and given custom colour tints.
11th Dec - Superhero Papercraft
Great gift for young or old, boy or girl. These cardboard figures are surprisingly tough and can endure gentle play. They also make great desk or shelf decorations.
12th Dec - Fabric Necklaces and Papercraft Hanging Mobiles
Make a stylish necklace from fabric and marbles. After tea we will also put together hanging strands of beautiful papercraft shapes that can be used as a wall accent or put together as a baby mobile.
13th Dec: Brush Bot
These cute little crazy robots are a fun way to introduce robots to younger kids. They are made from toothbrushes, a vibration motor and a coin battery and can be given fun personalities using stick on crafts. We will put these together and then create fun little box habitats for them to knock around in.
Wonderful homemade Christmas present for a boy or a girl
14th Dec - Christmas Wrapping workshop including handmade seedpaper gift tags
Gifts are always more magical when their first impression shows how much thought and time you have put into it. Bring your presents, especially the awkward shaped ones, and we will help you turn them into Christmas characters and do fun artwork on them.
Due to the handmade seed paper taking a few days to dry, we will make this beforehand, but show you how easy it is to make. This paper can be written on as a gift tag, and the person who received your gift tag can put it in a pot, water it and enjoy bountiful herbs or flowers.
