ABOUT

NESIPHO is a celebration of the gifts channelled through us and handed down between generations. It is a multi-sensory experience where food, music and art meet that speaks to the many talents that we as Africans hold, CHEF BADUZA will share her own gift for creating vibrant and contemporary flavours laid over Afrocentric foundations, whilst ZIKA CROWNED reimagines space that pulsates through the spirit of home.

Our resident writer-performer VUYOKAZI NGEMNTU with her unique and powerful presence and an ability to captivate her audience as her words string along the melodies and songs of our souls will guide us through the presentations of the evening.  

In the spirit of reflection and thanksgiving, singer-songwriter, composer and performer ODWA BONGO returns to Nesipho stage in this third installation with his sonic presentation entitled UMBULELO that promotes our spiritual healing and upliftment.

As we look forward we introduce the supremely gifted visual artist BUHLE NKALASHE and his artworks titled PERCEPTION OF EGGS - paintings he completes every morning to signify the birth of a birth of a bright new day, and the mystery of events to come.

The Nesipho event as a whole presents a space where people can come in search of their own gifts, or to share ones that already might be, or to otherwise give thanks to the ones that have gone before. In this installation of Nesipho, we pay tribute to those gifts with UMBULELO or thanksgiving.
