ABOUT
Episode 4 of The New Normal focuses on the intimate relationship with one's partner during the post-partum phase.
Adjusting to life with a new baby is profound for both parents and lays the ground for a shift in the relationship between them. The positives include seeing your beloved in this new role as mother or father which for many can make them fall in love all over again and develop a new found respect for each other. But this is the 'parenting honeymoon' phase and with this life change come major challenges to the couples dynamic. Learning how to understand and navigate this new territory as a team will have lasting positive effects on your relationship with each other as well as with your child/ children.
Psychologist and couple's therapist, Claire Strohbach is the speaker for this, our last get together of 2018, and she will be addressing the following themes:
Pregnancy news.
*The importance of the context surrounding pregnancy – subconscious expectations
*The experience of pregnancy and birth
Life with intimate partner after baby.
*The significant impact on all areas of life. Intimacy, leisure, work, family etc
How to understand and navigate the adjustment.
