This is the first event in a series of events to introduce individuals to a variety of cryptocurrencies, how they work, which are the more interesting cryptocurrencies to invest in and how to identify the best platforms and exchanges to use for buying and selling cryptocurrencies. We will also explore potential scams and best-practice for safely storing your cryptocurrencies

10:25 – 10:35am: The history of cryptocurrencies and its significance in the world today

10:35 – 11:00am: A look at some of the most interesting cryptocurrencies and altcoins such as bitcoin, bitcoin cash, monero, dash, zcash, XRP, ethereum, ethereum classic and EOS

11:00 – 11:15am: What are hard forks and how does this affect users? A brief look at the recent Bitcoin Cash fork and the resulting hash war

11:15 – 11:30am: SCAMS: What are typical cryptocurrency scams and how to avoid them

11:30 – 12:10pm: How to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on exchanges and platforms, how the price is determined, transaction fees and how to securely store cryptocurrencies in a wallet

12:10 – 12:30pm: Snacks and Coffee Break

12:30 – 12:50pm: Director of Stratum, Carmen Potgieter will talk about some of the services Stratum offers and which cryptos or altcoins are the interesting ones to consider for investment purposes

12:50 – 13:00pm: Closing and Question and Answer session
