Here at CodeSpace, we are proud to announce the next iteration of our Code Conversation event series!
At these events we aim to disperse misconceptions about programming as a practice and career path by hosting a panel of tech professionals to speak about their own experiences in the industry as well as answer any questions you might have.
This time we’ll be exploring the impact of coding on social issues such as employment, transport, and education.
With the tech sphere growing at an unprecedented pace, it becomes a priority to investigate its intersection with the wide variety of social issues coming to the surface in recent years. Whether speaking about diversity inside the industry or exploring how it could be used to redress inequality in education, it’s become evident that tech companies are able to take on these obstacles in innovative ways. See how our guest speakers are challenging the status quo and how they’re using technology as a vehicle for this change.
We’ll be hosting a Design Thinking challenge after the panel discussion to introduce attendees to the ways in which someone in the tech field would approach a complex problem, showcasing an incredibly creative part of the job, the ideative process. Ideally the event will serve as an introduction for any attendee who might be interested in coding as a career. If so, we’ll be hosting a brief aptitude challenge for any applicants who want to take the next step towards their future!
