BISHOPS’ 1ST XV – TOUR TO IRELAND 2019 FUNDRAISER – GALA DINNER - STEENBERG 8 FEBRUARY 2019

On the 12 March 2019, the Bishops’ 1st XV squad will embark on a 10 day tour of Ireland. There is much excitement amongst the boys as the last such tour was to Italy in 2010!

This is a fantastic opportunity for the boys as it gives them the chance to test themselves against teams from a different country and hemisphere and to experience the wonderful Gaelic culture in the process.

The squad will visit three Irish cities (Dublin, Galway and Limerick) and will play four matches against school and club teams. The experience will hopefully stand them in good stead for the 2019 season.

Our appeal: of the 25 boys who have been selected, 7 are on school bursaries and will require financial assistance towards the costs of the tour.

• Gala Dinner at Steenberg Golf Club – Friday 8th February 2019

We will be hosting a Gala Dinner at Steenberg Golf Club on Friday 8 th February 2019, with rugby commentator Matthew Pearce as MC and Nick Mallett as special guest speaker. They will be looking ahead to the World Cup in Japan and will debate and answer your questions regarding current events and developments in world rugby.

It promises to be an evening to remember all in the company of Bishops rugby supporters and family. Tickets are R800 per person / R8000 per table of 10 and are available either on Quicket (http://qkt.io/bishops-1st-rugby) or simply by contacting a committee member as per details below. Seating is limited, so please call us to make a reservation to avoid any disappointment.

• There are also 4-ball slots available if you would like to play golf before the dinner and make a day of it.

• Auction at the Gala Dinner

We will also be holding an Auction at the Dinner. We would be most grateful for any items for the auction. Experience has shown from previous auctions that: restaurant vouchers, air tickets / weekends away, experiences and art and décor items have sold easily and successfully.

• Monetary Contribution

Lastly, any contribution, whether it be towards our fundraiser endeavours or a monetary contribution, would be greatly appreciated to allow these deserving young players the opportunity to participate in a lifetime experience. Please see the banking details below:
