ABOUT

The Cape Town Founders Conference takes place in the heart of beautiful Cape Town during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018. This evening event focuses on some of the core topics of the entrepreneurial journey and seeks to educate and inspire founders. Key notes and panel discussions will be facilitated with top local founders, bringing together one of the biggest gatherings of entrepreneurs in Africa during GEW.

Speakers


Arnold Shapiro teaches Scale-up Methodology. Arnold is the founder of billion Rand listed group Trematon Capital Investments. Let’s just say that he understands a thing or two about scaling up your business.

Mokena Makeka directs Makeka Design Lab, an international award-winning Architecture practice that was involved in the design for the South African Police Service Railway Police Station and Thusong Services Centre. He is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader just to let you know. Together with Mokena we will be taking a deep dive into what it is like to be a young leader. The realities of leadership today and the journey vs the destination in being successful in business leadership.

Christoph Rohde

Christoph Rohde is Head of the Westerwelle Young Founders Programme from Berlin, Germany. The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme is a yearlong accelerator programme for entrepreneurs from developing and emerging economies with participants from Africa, Latin America and Asia. Christoph began his career as a management consultant for international corporations, started one company by himself and now looks at roughly 4500 startup applications each year.

Dana Pretorius is the Co-Founder and a Director at Outsourced CFO. Dana champions the fundraising process and understands the South African investor landscape, making him our go-to CA(SA) when it comes to helping you learn about all things fundraising.

Jacques Le Granges focuses on technology and operations. He will be a part of a technical panel discussion about automation. His focus and creative structured business personality has seen him succeed in automating some of the most complex organizations.

Kirsten Barnardt is a Clinical Psychologist at Barnardt and Fleming Private Practice. She will be unpacking stress management and how to build resilience throughout your entrepreneurial journey.
