ABOUT
During the 3 day x 3 hours training sessions, you will explore the important building blocks of the PID Learning Programme, unpack the content and develop a:
-Year Plan, and
-Individual Support Plan
Please note that this workshop consist out of 3 x 3 hours afternoon sessions - every Wednesday from 7 November to 21 November 2018
Registering for this workshop covers all three sessions.
The Workshops include:
1.Methodology and integration regarding the implementation of the Learning Programme
2.Design of the learning programme.
3.The three subject components: Communication and Language, Visual perceptual and cognitive skills
4.Assessment
5.Baseline Assessment
6.Individual Support Plan

Participants will receive the following at the workshop:
- Comprehensive course notes relevant to the learning phase.
- CD with resources
- Certificate of attendance. Participants could use this to claim SACE Type 1 PD points (Teacher Initiated) for attending an educational workshop session.
Participants should please bring along a pen and some paper.

Session Content
The following topics will be covered in this session:
HOST
SATeacher has been empowering teachers to teach since 2003 through training and the provision of equipment and resources to support the South African Curriculum.To date SATeacher has developed and published 581 titles, trained over 30 000 educators from the most rural to the most sophisticated school environments across South Africa. The approach with both resource development and training sessions is always hands-on and practical, employing internationally researched techniques and methodology. The aim is to make a difference in the understanding of educational content by both teachers and their learners.
While Mathematics remains a key focus area, SATeacher has devolped Curriculum based material on a wide content spectrum on appointment by the Ministry of Education, the Robben Island Museum, the Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa, Maropeng - Cradle of Humankind and many other organisations.
SATeacher supplies, installs, trains on and provide Curriculum based content for Interactive White Boards and distributes a huge range of their own and other educational resources from pencils through books and sound bars to laptop computers and eResources.

Presenter
Liezel Blom, has been an educator with a special focus on Mathematics for over 23 years. Co-founder of SATeacher. Most published Mathematics author in South Africa, with more than 500 titles. Main author of the DBE Workbooks. She has to date trained more than 20 000 educators, from the most rural public schools to the most sophisticated private schools in South Africa. Her hands-on and practical approach makes her a highly sought after facilitator in South Africa. All techniques and methodology shared in her sessions are based on internationally researched best practice, aiming to be practical and easy to apply and to really make a difference in the understanding of Mathematics by teachers and learners alike.
