We Got The Jazz, Joburg’s only jazz & hip-hop monthly series, a collaboration by the people at Untitled Basement & The Glenlivet. Curated by DJ Kenzhero and Thandi Ntuli, Standard Bank’s Young Artist of the Year (Jazz) 2018.
The series features new wave Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, Hip-hop and Soul collaborations from across Africa and around the world. We tap into the masters of the scene, the alternatives and the underdogs to bring as much music entertainment value and artistic innovation to the stage.
This month's edition features the indelible Stogie T (F.K.A Tumi, formerly of Tumi & The Volume), a pioneer of South African Rap fusing live instrumentation across jazz, hip-hop, afro beats, r&b, soul and poetry. The artist has evolved into a lyrical powerhouse defying the status quo, staying true to his almost slept-on art form in lyricism and storytelling. Stogie T is the evolution of TUMI, a true legend in his new super hero suit.
Stogie T taps into the musical direction of Thandi Ntuli, Kenzhero and the resident We Got The Jazz band...
