Embodiment: bondage performances and exhibition at the Raptor Room

ABOUT

Embodiment is the representation of an idea or feeling in tangible form. Bondage can represent many things. 

To most, it is associated with captivity or domination. At this event, we hope to display bondage as what it means 

to us: the embodiment of freedom and intimacy. We seek to celebrate the forms we tie, to highlight their strength 

in vulnerability. Please join us on this first Thursday of December, to witness us as we lay our intimacy bare.

The Line-Up:

 18:00-20:00 Photographic Exhibition of works by Tapiwa Guzha, Lauren Brits and Astrid Radermacher (open to public) 

 20:00-20:45 Performance by Tapiwa Guzha (@SungaKonji) and Jessica Doran (@jess.the.human)

 21:00-21:45 Performance by Astrid Radermacher (@_desire_lines) and Simone van Buuren (@vroeteldier)

Considerations for attendees:

This is strictly an 18+ event, as it explores themes of an adult nature and contains partial nudity.

No photography will be permitted, except by official event photographers. The doors will be closed at 20:00 for the performances. If you are not in by this time, you can some in during the 15 minute intermission for the second performance.

The performers require silence - chatting/heckling/commenting is very disrespectful and you will be asked to leave.

This is an incredibly vulnerable style of performance, and incredibly intimate. Please respect the space.

The first performance is floorwork and the second is suspension. Both have associated risks and responsibilities. If you would like to learn how to do this safely, please contact us after the event for more information, but do not try these acts on your own without training.

The performers might require some space after their performance to decompress. Please give them the necessary space and allow them to re-enter the social realm when they are ready.
