About Nadia Khan

Having worked with countless kids during her years of training around KZN, Dr Khan has come to understand that small patients need special patience. Little people require a different approach to assessment and management – holistic, meticulous, thorough and compassionate.

Dr Khan realised at a young age that she wanted to become a paediatrician and this dream became the focus of her academic achievements over the next two decades.

She matriculated from Westville Girls’ High School and went on to do her MBChB at UKZN.

After the six years of medical school Dr Khan worked in East London and Kokstad in various specialities including Surgery and Obstetrics, however her time in Paediatrics only reaffirmed her ambitions to work with children.

After a further four years of intensive study and training in paediatrics, Dr Khan qualified as a paediatrician in 2010. She then worked as a consultant paediatrician in the public sector for two years, during which time she assisted in training medical students and future paediatricians.

Only then did she feel she was ready for the challenge of private practice and opened up her rooms in Hillcrest Private Hospital.

Her professional qualifications include PALS (Paediatric advanced life support) and FCPaed1 and 2.

Her passion for paediatrics has led to her publishing 3 articles to date in the Paediatric Quarterly.
