STFD presents: Gypsy.Balkan.Folk Revival
Sat Nov 3, 20:00 - Sun Nov 4, 02:00
Trenchtown
ABOUT
The first Revival show was a huge success so we've decided to run with the concept.
As we've grown older, musical influences and tastes have developed but one thing that binds this scene is the sense of community and family between these bands and a whole bunch of others.
So we're on a mission to revive the underground alternative scene. This is what you need to know:
The Venue: Trenchtown; A venue where, within its history, a lot of local alternative bands have cut their teeth. We're taking the music back to Observatory to celebrate our next Revival show.
The Date: Sat the 3rd November. Beginning of the month when the weight of the world is slightly lighter than it was a week ago. And as we go into summer, treat yourself before you have to buy your in-laws a Xmas present
The Bands: Nomadic Orchestra, The Shabs and Deon Bakkes and the Stolen Horses all the way from the sunny shores of Pretoria. Let's show them why Cape Town is the place to be. A great line-up of gypsy swing, balkan beats and folk punk courtesy of some of South Africa's finest. And to top-hat it all off, Nick Nesimowski of Dukes of Note will be playing some acoustic sets between sets
The Price: R80 online and R100 at the door. Besides being cheaper, online is where it's at for sure. If you buy your ticket there, you could win some cool shit. Merch for instance. Maybe some other things too. Watch this space
Doors will open at 8pm. Music from 9pm
Merch is always on sale. Card, Snapscan and Zapper facilities available.
