Ideal present to yourself and your loved one. Wonderful time and space to rejuvenate, reconnect (present), reflect (past), and prospect (future).

Sunday 7th October 2018

Mindfulness Area, Huddle Park, Club Street, Linksfield, Johannesburg.

Practitioners are top of the range: deeply experienced in their field of expertise.

Guided events begin at 6:30 am and end at 6:30 pm; but you can arrive a little later and leave a bit earlier.

  • Bring your own snacks and refreshments, a small backpack, comfortable walking shoes and clothes, a hat and binoculars. Also bring a good book or other reading material and pen and notebook. A yoga mat or cushion is required for Mindfulness and Yoga classes. A safe area is provided to leave them, when not being used.

  • This day is a digital screen free zone, so no cell phones allowed - not even for pictures! Imprint memories in your mind, for a change.

  • You can join any guided event during the day or enjoy pools of silence, and explore 50 hectares of forest, ponds and meadows. What you choose to experience is your own choice. There are hundreds of safe sitting, lying, and standing areas for your own company to front Nature with all your senses.

  • Dogs are welcome only for the Dog Training session thirty minutes before and thirty minutes after. So allow someone else to drop the dog(s) off at AcroBranch parking, and fetch them afterwards.

Cost R1200 per person. Discounts are available for students, pensioners, and those who are financially stressed (apply to [email protected] for such discounts). Pre booking is essential online.

ABOUT MINDFULNESS IN THE PARK

The need to return to a simpler way of life, to combat the onslaught of modern living on our bodies, minds and spirits, has led to this weekly adventure in being Mindful, which is currently held at Huddle Park.
The need to reconnect with Nature, in order to reconnect with ourselves, is being facilitated on a weekly basis by Dr Jonathan Moch and his team of Mindfulness Guides. To ensure that all who join in for the 90 minute sensory delight are on the same page, the Walk and its purpose are explained before we begin. Meeting at the Dancing Trees, a short walk away from Acrobranch, allows the Guide to greet all the participants and explain the “plan for the day”, as the walk and activities on the walk, are different every week.
What can be seen as quite daunting, 90 minutes of silent walking, is soon embraced by all the participants as the benefits of being there quickly becomes evident. The ability to truly listen is at the core of a quality life. Conversely, not listening, just hearing, is the foundation of much suffering. Stress-related illnesses, breakdown in relationships, catastrophic wars, environmental disasters .... are exponential reactions to not listening: to others, ourselves, history and the natural world. We now live in a world of continual tech distractions that dilute our ability to pay attention and to listen, not just hear. There are severe costs to 24/7 distractions. It is getting worse! The universe is a noisy place.
So join us on an adventure in Wellness, Mindfulness and renewed Purpose so that your greatest asset, your brain, may function optimally for the rest of your life.
