ABOUT

Anyone who has been alive in the 21st Century knows Sakhile Moleshe as the richly

charismatic voice of South African SAMA award winning electro duo Goldfish but that is just

one incarnation of a multi-faceted poet, composer and musician. Audiences fortunate enough

to get a rare chance to witness the Shapeshifting trio perform will witness a metamorphosis of

this diversely talented artist into an earlier, more complex form.

Sakhile presents the Shapeshifting Trio featuring Simphiwe Tshabalala on drums and Ayanda

Zalekile on Bass formed after his recent move to Johannesburg circa 2016. To mark his return

to the stage after a short self imposed hiatus from performing Sakhile returns to showcase his

skill on the keys in this new outfit whilst singing at the same time. The trio re-imagines, reinvents

and gives a sense of resurgence to a number of Sakhile’s original compositions

composed during his days as a student at the University of Cape Town. When one watches

the synergy between these three musicians one comes face to face with a colossal live

explosion of musical experiments and transmutations that have lay dormant for far too long.

The Shapeshifting trio is a chance to observe creative evolution occur, at close quarters, in

real time.
