Marcè Underwood Presents: Music Tribute to Sadè:


Join vivacious Cape Town singer, guitarist & poet Marcè Underwood & her band Project Escape, as they take you through a musical journey inspired by the sounds of the legendary songbird that is, Sadè.

TIME:   Pre drinks are at 7pm, followed by the live show from 7:30pm sharp to around 9:00pm.

ABOUT Sadè:

Helen Folasade Adu CBE ; born 16 January 1959, known professionally as Sade Adu or simply Sadè , is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known as the lead vocalist of the English band Sadè.

Sadè is widely considered a musical influence, and her contributions to music have made her a global figure in popular culture for over two decades. She has been credited as one of the most successful British female artists in history. Her work is listed among the finest in modern jazz history. Her services to music were also commemorated after being awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire chivalry honour in 2002.


ABOUT Marcè Underwood:

Marcè Underwood is a South African classically trained singer, published poet & businesswoman. She is a born and bred Capetonian who is proud of where she is from. Following a gap year, she studied Classical Music at UCT where she honed her craft and has performed on many stages in South Africa and also in Cardiff, Wales.


Marcè has performed alongside artists such as Lira, MiCasa, Kyle Shepherd, Buddy Wells and other genres such as dance/soul-lounge music projects. She loves performing with inspiring artists & also watching live acts from completely different genres.


Apart from her performing career, Marcè has just completed a Postgraduate qualification in Higher Education as one of her true loves, is to teach music to the youth in her community. 


Marcè's repertoire expands from Opera to Jazz and she has written songs which completely transfix her audience. 


Marcè is currently performing on stages all over Cape Town, as a Jazz singer where she recently made the finals of the Open Mic Jazz Competition at GrandWest, a part of a duo with or with her talented band, Project Escape.
