This workshop is for the absolute beginner as well as the more seasoned practitioner, who would like to refresh on the basics and dive deeper into refining the practice. We will focus on the use of breath in vinyasa, correct alignment in the most popular postures as suited to your body needs and structures as well as smooth transitions between postures. This 2 hour workshop will be interactive, fun and full of crucial information that will help you step up your practice with confidence.

NOTE:  Part 1 and Part 2 are different explorations and learnings.  It is not essential to do both but definitely beneficial.

20/09/2018 - Yin & Thai Yoga Expewrience with Nikita

In this workshop we will combine the healing art of Thai Yoga Massage and Yin Yoga. For an hour and a half, I will guide you through passive yin postures while applying acupressure massage in certain poses offering a deeper sense of relief.

Yin Yoga is recognised for encouraging the deep stretching of connective tissue as poses are held for long periods of time, typically five to seven minutes. The muscles that surround the connective tissues must be relaxed, and Thai Yoga Massage does the same, except that the therapist stretches the client. When the connective tissue is stretched the energy lines of the body open and will often release pent-up emotions and toxins. Another positive benefit is that circulation is promoted to the targeted areas. This increased blood flow to an area will promote healing to injuries and all round general well-being.

One of the most important benefits of Yin Yoga and Thai Yoga Massage is their effect on health. The lymphatic and nervous systems are stimulated, promoting improved immunity.

Combining the healing art of these two practices is extremely beneficial for body and mind by improving circulation, releasing energy and toxins while allowing you to enter a meditative space of being present in your body and your breath.

11/10/2018 - Ashtanga with Ru Part One

In this 2-part workshop you will be introduced to the heart of this unique practice and develop a basic understanding behind its ancient philosophy and benefits of the practice.   During the first part we will explore the foundations of this method which include breath, drsthi (gaze), alignment of breath and movement with traditional sanskrit count in the sun salutations and fundamental poses.

The second part we delve into the first half of primary series, focusing on correct entry and exit from each pose including the traditional Sanskrit count, alignment and modifications. This workshop is a foundation for a safe and conscious practice to connect to your own embodied intelligence.
