On the 25th of July, Touch presents Sunshine Shibambo.

Hlamalani Sunshine Shibambo is a known tastemaker and cultural curator that merges and develops ideas for corporate SA; lifestyle brands; artists; entertainment channels and traditional brand marketing to execute innovative concepts; events and quality through the line executions.”

Born and bred in Johannesburg, Sunshine started working in the industry in 2004 creating a career focused on developing and sustaining unique brand ideas and tailor made concepts that are targeted at the diverse African market.

With 14 years in the “game” it is this reason; Sunshine has solid and respectable following on social media, with a mix of the consumers ages  and South Africa’s celebrities; events managers/promoters; lifestyle brands; PR & media companies.

Qualified with two diplomas from the AAA School of Advertising in Art Direction and Marketing Communications in 2003. Studied Digital Brand Marketing with the Red and Yellow School in Cape Town and qualified for a certificate from Stellenbosch in 2014 to keep up with growing digital market clients are desperate to understand and engage.

In September 2018 her vision Cheri Yase Kasi Smart Creatives officially turns 3.

June 2015 Sunshine started a consulting outfit called Pocket of Sun which eventually grew into Cheri Yase Kasi; a proudly African ideation specialist agency pioneering disruptive consumer centric experiential marketing strategies. Servicing top brands in Africa like Tigerbrands; Nestle; Unilever; Mercedes Benz and SAB Inbev.

A year later Mandla Mazibuko and Tumi Mohube joined Cheri Yase Kasi as partner as part of the strategy to grow the company. The 3 friends had worked together in agencies before, and they had their own dreams that they didn’t know how to realise individually. They then took the skills that all three of them had to become what is now this exciting, larger agency.

For Sunshine, Mandla, and Tumi it’s important to show that kid in the township that you don’t have to be an A+ student only to make it work. They want to show the young black youth that there are other work opportunities out there that fall outside the traditional professions that they might be really strong in. They work with various church groups in townships, take in paid interns, and kids go to them for guidance, inspiration and mentorship. In the process of starting a business they are becoming entrepreneurs; and their dream is to change the world for every black child.
