The Event

Ensuring your work is being accurately represented and interpreted, as well as getting to the right people at the right time, all play an important factor in its broader impact.

Altmetrics are real-time data that provide a record of how research has been shared, discussed and reused online. These data can help you understand who is talking about a piece of research, how often they are discussing it and what’s being said.

During this webinar, Charlotte Perry Houts, Implementation Manager, and Josh Clark, Marketing Executive, at Altmetric will give an introduction to the data and demonstrate how they can be used by researchers and institutions to:
  • Support the promotion of research to maximize its reach

  • Monitor and track early engagement of research as soon as it’s published

  • Demonstrate the value of research for promotion and funding

  • Discover ‘trending’ research in your field and beyond

And much more…

This session forms part of the Rural Campuses Connection Project II (RCCPII) Capacity Development Initiative. The RCCP II eConveration Series offers monthly online sessions covering topics relevant to researchers, support staff, and students at higher education institutions in South Africa. For more information about future sessions and other events please visit the RCCPII calendar.
