The Event

Join Jean De Villiers, former Springbok rugby captain, for an inspired business breakfast event in aid of children’s charity, Christel House South Africa. Christel House is a global charity that operates eight learning centres around the world of which the school in Ottery (Cape Town) is the only one in Africa. The school offers free scholarships to students from some of Cape Town’s most impoverished communities and helps them to break free from a life of poverty.

Jean retired in 2016 as the second-most capped Springbok captain of all time and with 109 caps under his belt, is the fourth-most capped player in the history of South African Test rugby. He made his first impact at international level in the South African Sevens team in 2001 and a year later ran out for the 15-man Springbok team for the very first time. Over the years, he overcame several big injury blows to build a reputation as one of the world's best inside centres and lead the Springbok team to many international victories. As the head of philanthropy at Citadel Wealth Management, Jean de Villiers has taken on a new leadership role to bring about change in the society, particularly through education.

Guests will be treated to an in-depth look into Jean’s personal career, what motivational principles got him through the toughest of times and how these can be applied to everyday situations, whether in the corporate environment or fighting to make a positive change in South Africa.

Meet and network with business professionals and industry influencers; enjoy various musical items as performed by Christel House students, followed by Q&A and a photo session with Jean de Villiers. The event includes an in-depth look into De Villiers’ personal career, musical items performed by Christel House students, sales of signed rugby balls and auctioning off a Springbok rugby jersey signed by the current Springbok rugby team.
