ABOUT

You are invited (no matter how young or old) to be a part of the “Adventures with God” Men's Getaway in September. Carmel Guest Farm near George is the perfect place to be at one of the most meaningful and significant weekends on the Walmer Methodist calendar.  

The camp will be filled with a unique balance between spiritual input, personal growth, relaxation, leisure time and time to do your own thing.  It will also be great fun where you will have time to meet others and feel a closer part of the family at WMC!  

It's an opportunity to grow, meet new friends and enjoy God’s beauty while listening to excellent input from our guest speaker, Brian Helsby.  Plus a guarantee of plenty of laughter and fellowship!

We realise this is a long weekend and for many this would be a family time. We are requesting that you ask your family to release you for “once-off” event and that you make a priority of committing to this very important event! We hope you'll come back a better man for your family!

The food at Carmel is legendary and many people over decades have enjoyed the comfortable accommodation and magnificent views over Victoria Bay and endless Wilderness beaches!

Accommodation

Carmel is a B&B style leisure resort (as opposed to a camping facility) with comfortable beds in well-appointed rooms.  

Most rooms have views that go on forever down the lush valley and over Victoria Bay.  WMC guests will be accommodated in different options from single rooms to family cottages.

Speaker

Brian Helsby is a practical, humorous and relevant speaker who has an intimate understanding of the context of SA.

Having held positions as the PE director of Youth for Christ (YFC) in PE and later National Director in Jhb, as well his current position as Director of Heartlines in SA, Brian can relate across the age groups!

Cost

R1500.00 for 3 nights, all meals and conference fees (Only R500.00 per day DBB&L (and tea!))

Travel: Private cars

Our aim is to get 4 people in a vehicle. If you are able to take your vehicle, please indicate on the booking form.

Transport costs are expected to be around R250.00 each - this is not included in the camp fee.

Activities

Activities are included in the cost of camp unless you undertake in an activity that charges additional costs e.g. golf, paragliding, etc.

Carmel has a renowned croquet course and Victoria Bay is perfect for swimming.

Do not let age keep you away! From out of school leavers and young adults to those octogenarian in our congregation … this camp has been planned for you and we would love to see all men in our church experience this special event together!
