PERFORMERS

VOCALISTS
John Lambrou
John describes himself as a wannabe boy band member who had to rearrange his expectations when real life kicked in. Apart from singing in an all-male ensemble called Profundi in the early 2000s, John has also appeared in a few Cape Town productions including Forever Plaid, Yeoman of the Guard and Bond that was put on by the Pinelands Players.

Linda Pledger Eedes
Linda was first cast as daughter Hodel in a production of Fiddler on the Roof at the age of 15, which kick-started her journey in musical theatre and ignited in her a passion for the genre. Highlights over the years include playing Laurie in Oklahoma, playing daughter Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Grace Farrell in Annie, and having the honour of playing one of musical theatre's most beloved female characters, Eliza Doolittle in G&S's 2016 production of My Fair Lady.

Regina Malan
Regina obtained her BMus at Stellenbosch University, specialising in stage performance with classical singing as her first instrument. While she has previously done operas, such as Le Nozze di Figaro and Dido and Aeneas, she only recently started doing plays and musicals such as Macbeth, Design for Living, Jane Eyre, The Full Monty and Shadows in Red Light, where she took the lead role. In 2018 she made her Alexander Bar debut with Public City the Musical as singer, actor and musical director, starred in the LGBTQ show Because it's Okay, will play Iago in the all-female cast of Othello: A Woman's Story and is self-producing and writing a few shows this year. Regina also does voice-over work, films, writes plays, started her own production company with Adolph de Beer and Candice Burgess called Mish Mash Media Productions and composes music.

Werner van Coller
Werner started singing from a young age. During his high school years, he was a member of the Free State Youth Choir. After high school he went to study pharmacy at the Potchefstroom University where he also sung in the university choir, under the direction of Awie van Wyk. During his student years, he was selected to sing in the World Youth Choir. He started his voice training under Prof Werner Nel which he continued under Hanlie Stapela when he moved to Pretoria and continued under Beverly Chiat in Cape Town. In 2004 he won the AKTV Crescendo competition and he has performed with various South African singers. In 2010 and 2011 he took part in the musical Masada in Israel. He was also part of the musicals Oklahoma, where a played the lead role, King Saul, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady and Pirates of Penzance. Werner is currently working on his solo career and performs at soirees, churches and concerts.

Johannes received his Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and Piano Cum Laude and recently won the Jan Royce Foundation Prize for best Symphonic Composition. Apart from his composition emphasis, Johannes also regularly performs as pianist, double bassist, and conductor. Among his composition awards, Johannes has also competed in various instrumental competitions and is in high demand as an orchestral double bass player. He recently performed as a soloist in D. Dragonetti’s Andante and Rondo for solo double bass and orchestra with the Camerata Tinta Barocca orchestra of Cape Town. Johannes is currently studying a Master of Music degree in Composition on a Bomhard Fellowship at the University of Louisville School of Music in Kentucky.

When he returned to South Africa in 2014, he got involved working with youth through creative education, drama, music and imagination development. He has performed with the COLOVR Ensemble and has had shows at both the Galloway and Masque Theatres. Currently he is working on a pop-up performance called the African Rhythm Workshop.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Christopher Cameron-Dow

A pianist since the age of 7, Chris has always loved music and enjoyed sharing it through performance. Although classically trained, Chris has branched out in terms of music genres in recent years and has been involved as the pianist in musicals, such as You Bet Your Life! and A (Sorta) Love Story at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown and Alexander Bar in Cape Town. Skylights provides Chris with the dual challenge of musical direction and leading a band of professional musicians, both of which have proven to be difficult and enormously satisfying. Chris is often found behind the piano at the Queen Victoria Hotel on Saturday evenings and occasionally at the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands.

DIRECTOR
Pierre Robertson

Pierre has been involved in the performing arts and music from a young age. Following a long absence after being a member of an all-male ensemble in the early 2000s, he returned to the stage in 2016 as part of the cockney choir in My Fair Lady. Since then Pierre has been involved in various productions – he was a member of the background vocal ensemble for Selim Kagee's solo concert in 2016 and a part of the jury men in the 2017 Cape Town production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury Comic Opera. Later the same year he took on the role of Reg Willoughby in The Full Monty.

This new interest in music and theatre has sparked an interest in the production side of the performing arts. In early 2018 Pierre came up with the concept of Sky Lights – he decided it was time to try his hand at producing and directing a show….and, here it is!
