SUITS & SNEAKERS PRESENTS: GROW THIS COUNTRY (LEARN HOW TO GROW YOUR OWN VEGGIES) (JHB EDITION)A few weeks ago, a few of us got thinking about how disconnected people are from the process of growing food. Modern society steers us toward relying on supermarkets and grocery stores for our food yet we all have the ability to grow it ourselves. But where do we start? What veggies grow best during what season? What type of veggies should we grow together? What are the common mistakes most people make at first when starting to grow their own veggies? What are the best practices?
Come join us for an evening of informal education centred around learning to grow your own veggies! We have several guests on the night, including David Jaffe from PlantNation, who will teach us all about the process of growing our own food.
But most importantly, it is our aim to start a special initiative that allows multiple groups to grow their own veggies and give the surplus to poor communities. We will be discussing this idea on the night and using groupthink to mastermind this initiative from scratch!
