Jack Mantis and Andre Geldenhuys will be performing at La Cuccina in Hout Bay. This intimate performance will include a 2 course mexican buffet and is sure to be a memorable night.
Jack Mantis Biography:
The Jack Mantis Band formed in 2007 and quickly established a reputation as the neighbourhood good-time band by playing dingy back alley clubs and getting paid in fried chicken and cheap liquor. From there JMB snowballed into steady gigs at the hottest clubs in the city and a international touring circuit that took them places they never imagined. JMB became more than just a band of musicians. They became cross-cultural ambassadors for sonic manipulation, and one of the hottest large stage jam bands to come out of their small home town in South Africa. Their music speaks of adventure, travel, humanity, struggles and triumph. Only something they are able to portray with brutal honesty through living the touring life. Jack has always marked his success through the compliments of the artists he respects the most, and has shy’ed away from mainstream media as a means to approach the bands sound without influence. “What we discovered was that music is a bond that builds bridges across unknown expanses. JMB has become a living, breathing, evolving, aspect of our musical union. If we can facilitate a small shift from within our fans, and always be a positive influence to our listeners, then we have the greatest job we could ever have wished for” says Jack.
With love songs that make you miss the X you never had, and revolution songs that force you to question the relationship you have with yourself and others, JMB always takes you into unchartered emotional territory…leaving the listener feeling a true sense of home, compassion and nostalgia.
