ABOUT

World Bellydance day started several years ago as a way for the International Bellydance community to join together to celebrate this beautiful art form, educate our community on the cultural aspects of the dance, break stereotypical views, and raise funds for worthy causes. The event is held globally on the 2nd This global event is held annually on the second Saturday in May and studios across the world all celebrate on this shimmabulous date.
 
As one of the oldest Belly Dance studios in SA, Janan Bellydance will be hosting the 2018 event in Johannesburg, joined by a variety of fantastic studios from across Gauteng and beyond. Join us at 6 pm sharp at CASA DO SOL School in Linden, on Saturday 12 May for a belly dance spectacular featuring some of SA’s amazing talent. The show will include a wide variety of belly dance styles like Oriental and Tribal Fusion to tantalise and entertain you.
 
This year our dance sisters will be partnering with the Living Link.
This amazing organisation provides work readiness and independent living training for young adults with intellectual disability.

All funds raised at this event will be donated directly to this NGO.
 
SHOW INFO:
  • The show starts promptly at 6.00pm.  
 
  • There will be with a short intermission and food and soft drinks are available to purchase so bring along some cash. Please bring your own alcohol.
 
  • Ticket costs are R85 per person. The cost of tickets is per seat so there are no discounted prices for children or pensioners.
 
  • Seating for the show is limited - so arrive early to get a good seat.
 
  • Please take note that parking is limited at the venue. There is parking available on the street and a security guard will be there to watch vehicles. We recommend making use of Uber where possible.
 
  • No flash photography is permitted during the performance.
 
  • No smoking in the hall or surrounds. Smoking is allowed in the parking area in the front of the school.
 
  • There will be a fabulous raffle on the night to raise additional funds so please come armed with cash to buy your ticket and stand a chance to win.
