ABOUT

From the sugarcane plantations of Kwa-Zulu Natal to the southernmost distillery on Cape Point, across the country the beginnings of an artisanal rum culture are arising.

The Pan African Rum Festival brings together the finest rums emerging from South Africa’s pioneering craft distilleries, along with exotic selections from Africa's historic rum regions including Madagascar, Mauritius and the Reunion Islands.

Come and experience a rich spirit steeped in history and myth, reborn and refined by the finest small batch-distillers to be poured, mixed, shaken and enjoyed in a myriad forms.

A gathering of the finest local distillers, prestigious international rum houses and rum masters of East Africa… Each producer presents a drinks-menu that expresses their handiwork to it’s greatest enjoyment.

Feast on the offerings of Joburg’s finest rum eateries and street food stars, serving up custom menus created for the festival, and head out onto the deck where a lineup of DJ’s and live acts provide abundant dancing pleasure for the day.

Come and revel in the vibrancy, the colour and flavour, the spiced and aged and crafted spirit of rum culture.
