Paul Galatis, Yuppiechef

Paul Galatis is an entrepreneur who has, along with his two partners, spent the past six years building Yuppiechef.com, South Africa’s leading e-commerce store. Paul joined the two-man Yuppiechef team as a partner and director in 2008 to lead the design, branding and marketing efforts of the business. The trio has since grown the business to a team of more than eighty employees, winning ‘Best E-Commerce Site’ at the South African E-Commerce Awards in 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013 and a string of other awards along the way. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town, was one of fifteen young South Africans to be selected for the DA’s Young Leaders’ Political Education Program in 2010 and was recently a finalist in the 2013 EY World Entrepreneur Awards. In his past he project managed the launch of 20-Over cricket in South Africa; won a South African Music Award for best album design; and in 2011 the Mail & Guardian newspaper listed him as one the Top 200 Young South Africans to take to lunch. Before joining Yuppiechef he spent his time between South Africa and the UK working as an independent design and brand consultant.



Linda Gale, Stitch&Steel

Linda Gale is the owner and founder of Stitch&Steel, a fashion label that blends traditional African print cloth with current trends in fashion.  She studied Marketing and Business at Lisof in Johannesburg before launching her unique clothing label from home and is now the owner of the Stitch&Steel store, situated in Joburg's trendy Maboneng Precinct.



Modicai Mnculwane, Sharp Braai Stand

Born and raised and matriculated in KZN, moved to JHB for better opportunities did some odd jobs here and there put myself to college. Graduated at Damelin Business school for PR Diploma. Sell Boerewors for to pay my studies, started selling at Arts On Main on weekend at the Market noticed by Jonathan Liebermann and was offered space to open braai place (shisanyama) called Sharp braai. Started working for Mafadi Management Property on 2011 work as letting agent and promoted to different position and currently as Operations Director. I work seven days a week, every Saturday go around sell Boerewors to cricket or rugby game and on Sunday sell at the market. On the 8th March 2014, will be opening my second shisanyama store in Maboneng and intend to venture on other business as well around the city. Started Shap braai with one guy now we have four full team.



Zweli Ndhlovu, Eastrand Toilet Hire

Zweli is the Managing Member of Eastrand Toilet Hire. Established in 1994, Zweli started managing the company in January 2001. It is a 100% black owned company. Eastrand Toilet Co. was first established within the black
townships and providing toilet hire to African Traditional ceremonies, weddings &
funerals, is now one of the leading Johannesburg based companies providing toilet
hire to special events, construction & civil engineering sites and mines. With a solid
blue chip clientele, Eastrand prides itself on 95% of clients being from the private sector. The company has operations throughout Gauteng, and Kwa-Zulu Natal, in Mining, Special Events and Construction arenas and also services Mpumalanga, North-West & Limpopo.



Taryn Jacobson, The Living Room

Taryn Jacobson was born with a green thumb. High up in the heart of the city, in the uber trendy Maboneng Precinct, she and her team have planted roots and set up an eco oasis. Her art and design background has paved the way for a green rejuvenation of spaces using organic materials.Out of this passion Taryn created the vertical garden which she has become famous for. After a long contract with the Maboneng precinct, the Tiakaya was born and soon followed by The Living room - a living and breathing space doubled up as a show-space for the furniture Tiakaya makes. Situated on the rooftop of the Main Change building in Kruger street, this green space overlooks the Johannesburg skyline. Tiakaya make a range of furniture, using eco friendly, sustainably sourced woods. All the pieces are locally manufactured.
