We're doing it again!
We really like the idea of camping with our friends, and spinning things while we're at it. So we decided to create a Flow Arts Camp :)
We will be hosting the camp at Kogel Bay Resort. This will be from the night of Friday 13th of April, until the Sunday afternoon. You're welcome to join us for all the fun :)
Warren and Duncan of Flow DNA will be hosting workshops where you can learn to spin poi, or staff, or other props that you may be interested in. If anyone else wants to teach a workshop, all you have to do is rock up and teach it. Everyone will appreciate you for it. At night we will be playing with LEDs and spinning fire around. If you have never spun fire before, and you would like to, we can give you a brief introduction to fire safety, and environmental awareness, so that you can join in the fire too. There may also be campfire songs and all that good stuff.
Campsites are 10m x 5m, each site holds 2 cars, so please carpool, there won't be that much parking space! When you contact us to book your spot you'll have to tell us how many people are in your car
Our friends have advised us that we do need to cover our admin and setup costs for organising this event, so the fee is slightly more than last time. We are asking for R120 per person. This comfortably covers camping for both nights, and allows us to put some money into making future events even more awesomer. There are only 50 camping tickets available, and ticket sales close on the 8th of April (so we have time to book with Kogel Bay).
If you would like to join us for the daytime, and do not intend to camp, you can do that for free. Just please don't mention Flow DNA to the people at the gate, as this will mess up the numbers for our campsite booking. Just say you're there for a picnic/braai.
Once you have bought your ticket, your spot will be booked and your name will be on a list at the Kogel Bay entrance. We'll be situated waaay at the end of Kogel bay, the north-west side.
Bring your own food, and your camping gear, all your toys, good vibes, and some paraffin if you intend to spin fire.
Musical instruments would be a really cool thing to bring too, especially drums and percussion.
Whatever you consider to be your art, bring that. The more cool things at this camp, the better.
Please be aware that there is a troop of baboons who love to visit Kogel Bay and steal everyone's food. Remember to keep your edible items stashed away safely at all times.
