There are many people out there with big dreams like my son Storme Prins. Some of us make it to our dreams and some of us just don’t. I am determent to provide Storme with the opportunity to be successful, like many other parents. We are no different to those families or children with dreams, we are just on a mission. As a single mom with two ambitious bright young children, I am asking you to help me for fill his dream. I have a lot of pride and to ask for help has never been in my vocabulary, but this is so much bigger than my ego ... this is an opportunity of a life time.
About 9 years ago Storme was diagnosed with a learning disability and life was tough, but never did we give up on our hopes and dreams. In 2009 Storme developed a keen interest in soccer, leading up to the Soccer World Cup in South Africa. I remember telling his occupational therapist at the time that he started playing soccer and she told me not to get my hopes up as he would not be able to be good at it. I never did tell him this and just continued to encourage his dreams. Today he plays academy soccer, we have had to negotiate offers from clubs, balance games from the U11 teams to 1st team soccer ... sometimes playing up to 3 games a day for various teams. He certainly is the youngest player I am aware of that has played first team soccer for a club.
Storme is living his dream! This year he has been invited to go play soccer, with the academy, in the Gothia Cup in Sweden. You can imagine his excitement and the opportunity that is presented here. Not only does he get exposed to international soccer, but he gets to travel internationally at the age of 15.
Storme is a natural born leader and is loved by his peers, family and his school. He is respectful, honest and hardworking and deserve a shot at an opportunity to become a professional soccer player.
We need financial assistance to get him to Sweden. Every cent helps, no matter how small. A breakdown of the cost is in the attached letter provided by the academy. Other than financial assistance he also needs additional gear for his trip like soccer boots and goalkeeper gloves, etc. We are happy to consider any corporate sponsorships where we give exposure to the company for their contribution in return.
